The Spoon in the Bathroom Wall by Tony Johnston

This is a fun read for all you fantasy lovers out there!  The Spoon in the Bathroom Wall is a story about a smart but poor girl named Martha who has some really weird things happening at her school. From the science teacher who is a  wizard who owns dancing eggs to a mean principal determined to the king of the school, this book keeps your attention with its overall weirdness. When Martha discovers a spoon stuck in the wall of the boys’ bathroom, it becomes a race to see who can pull it out and become king, much like the King Arthur legend. It was a predictable book, but it didn’t stop me from rooting for Martha all the way! Check out anything by Tony Johnston (she’s a woman, by the way)–her stories are all very different and enjoyable.
